On 19 March 2025, the Office of the Trade Competition Commission (OTCC) introduced targeted measures under the Trade Competition Act (B.E. 2560) to counter the market impact of low-cost, low-quality imported products, particularly from China. The measures were issued following the adoption of the Policy to Combat Illegal Foreign Goods and Businesses. These measures include investigating practices such as predatory pricing, resale price maintenance, and collusive pricing agreements that distort the market and hinder domestic competitors. The OTCC affirmed its intent to apply relevant provisions of the Act to both local and international operators engaging in unfair conduct, with coordination from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, police, and prosecution services to ensure compliance with international obligations.
