Law No. 08-12 amending and supplementing Ordinance No. 03-03 on competition including competition authority governance entered into force

On 2 July 2008, Law No. 08-12 amending and supplementing Ordinance No. 03-03 on competition entered into force. It established the Competition Council as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce, with 12 members (experts, professionals, and consumer reps) appointed by presidential decree (Articles 23–25). The Council published decisions in an official bulletin (Article 49) and managed its budget independently, though state-funded (Article 33).
