Law No. 23-20 on the Audiovisual Activity including content moderation regulation entered into force

On 3 December 2024, Law No. 23-20 on the Audiovisual Activity entered into force. Article 85 established a 12-month transitional period from the law's publication date (2 December 2023), during which existing audiovisual and online communication services were required to align their operations with the law. Article 32 obligates audiovisual services to abstain from broadcasting content that promotes violence, terrorism, racial discrimination, or false information, while Article 69 extends the Audiovisual Regulatory Authority's control to contents diffused on digital platforms of audiovisual service distribution.
