Law No. 14-04 on the Audiovisual Activity including content moderation regulation entered into force

On 23 March 2014, Law No. 14-04 on the Audiovisual Activity entered into force. The law mandates that audiovisual services must avoid broadcasting content that promotes violence, terrorism, or false information (Article 48). It requires neutrality in political coverage and prohibits content that undermines national security, public order, or religious values. Non-compliance may result in administrative sanctions by the Audiovisual Regulatory Authority.
