Kenya and European Union launched first Adequacy Dialogue on the African continent

On 7 May 2024, the European Union and Kenya announced the launch of an Adequacy Dialogue, aiming to facilitate the free flow of personal data from the EU to Kenya. A successful outcome could result in an Adequacy Decision, enabling the transfer of data between the jurisdictions. Such a decision would also align with the objectives of the recently concluded EU-Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement.
