Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa and Egypt signed Memorandum of Understanding on competition protection

On 9 August 2016, the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Competition Commission signed a Memorandum of Understanding on competition protection, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the field of enforcing competition rules of COMESA member states, including Egypt, and to encourage trade flows between Egypt and COMESA member states and maximize the benefits of trade liberalisation agreements between them.
