Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology launched AIKosha and IndiaAI Compute Portal

On 6 March 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched AIKosha as part of the IndiaAI Mission, with the objective of supporting machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) development in India. AIKosha is a platform that provides over 300 datasets, 80 AI models, AI sandbox capabilities, tools, and tutorials within an integrated development environment. Additionally, the IndiaAI Compute Portal was introduced to offer AI compute, network, storage, platform, and cloud services, initially providing 10'000 GPUs, with 8'693 more planned for future integration. The AI Competency Framework was established to provide training and skill development for public sector officials in AI-related fields.
