Telecommunication Regulation Law (No. 10 of 2003) establishing National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority entered into force

On 5 February 2003, the Telecommunication Regulation Law (No. 10 of 2003) partially entered into force. Article 3 establishes the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) as the national authority responsible for managing the telecommunication utility. The NTRA is granted a public juristic personality, is subordinated to the Minister Concerned, and has its headquarters in Cairo and Giza. The authority is tasked with regulating telecommunication services, enhancing service deployment, and encouraging national and international investment in the sector.
