Description

Competition Commission approved the acquisition of ATC Fibre Business by Frogfoot SPV

On 13 February 2025, the South African Competition Commission approved, without conditions, the acquisition of the ATC Fibre Business by Joule (Pty) Ltd (“Frogfoot SPV”). The transaction acquisition applies to the fibre infrastructure sector, specifically open-access fibre network services, including fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), fibre-to-the-business (FTTB), and fibre-to-the-tower (FTTT). The acquisition transfers ATC Fibre Business’s fibre network infrastructure and related assets to Frogfoot SPV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Frogfoot Networks. The Commission determined that the transaction is unlikely to substantially lessen or prevent competition in any market and does not raise significant public interest concerns.
