On 11 February 2025, the Act regulating Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, including prohibition of services, was introduced to the Nevada Senate. The Act establishes regulations concerning using AI systems across various sectors. The Act imposes restrictions on the use of AI-generated content in specific services. AI-generated images of individuals may not be used to provide services where a natural person is contractually required. The Act also provides that teachers in public schools are prohibited from using AI to generate lesson plans, except in cases where AI is the subject of instruction. The Act further prohibits landlords from determining rental prices based on recommendations from AI systems that utilise non-public information from multiple landlords. Insurers must also establish policies to ensure that AI-driven decision-making does not result in unfair or deceptive trade practices and are required to develop responsible AI use plans, particularly in cases where AI is sourced from third-party providers. Peace officers are restricted from using AI to generate investigative or police reports. Additionally, vendors selling AI-powered legal document software must ensure that all documents generated are reviewed by a licensed attorney before being provided to customers.
