On 21 March 2014, the Trade Competition and Consumers Protection Proclamation (No. 813/2013) entered into force. The Proclamation is applicable to any businesses offering services within Ethiopia. The Proclamation defines the circumstances under which an agreement is prohibited, including fixed price setting and lessening competition. Furthermore, the law forbids any conduct which could harm competitors or their business interests, including false allegations and the wrongful comparison of services.
