On 7 April 2025, the Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission of Canada (CRTC) closes public consultation on revising the definition of Canadian content for audio services under the Online Streaming Act. The Act empowers CRTC to update Canada’s broadcasting framework and ensure that online streaming services provide meaningful contributions to Canadian and indigenous content. The consultation sought inputs from stakeholders to revise the definition of Canadian content for audio services. The definition will seek to ensure music and other audio content are created, shared, and discovered across platforms.
