Description

Cloud Computing Policy

On 5 August 2019, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) of Nigeria adopted the Cloud Computing Policy. This policy mandates that sensitive government and citizen data be stored domestically, either through internal public institution frameworks or local cloud service providers. The guidelines aim to enhance data sovereignty, ensure compliance with national security protocols, and facilitate a secure cloud environment. By 2024, the policy targets a 30% increase in cloud adoption and a 35% growth in cloud infrastructure investments, ensuring that national standards for data classification, security, and service agreements are met. These measures support Nigeria's digital evolution and economic growth.
