National Information Technology Development Agency's Guidelines for Nigerian Content Development in Information and Communication Technology including data localisation requirement entered into force

On 2 August 2019, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) issued the Guidelines for Nigerian Content Development in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The guidelines mandate ICT companies to host sovereign data within Nigeria unless authorised otherwise by NITDA. Additionally, Networking Service Companies must store subscriber and consumer data domestically.
