Opened consultation on Guidelines for the Reporting and Sharing of Data Security Risk Information in the Industry and Information Technology Field

On 22 December 2021, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology opened a consultation on the draft "Guidelines for the Reporting and Sharing of Data Security Risk Information in the Industry and Information Technology Field". The Guidelines aim to implement the "Data Security Law of the People's Republic of China" and the other regulations that concern the warning procedures of data security breaches in the industrial sector. Particularly, the guidelines explain what can be considered as data security risk information and specify some technical terms such as data leakage, data tampering, and data abuse. Additionally, the guidelines stimulate enterprises, data processors and research institutes to engage in risk analysis and develop emergency plans. The consultation will close on 22 January 2022.
