Take-down regulation in social media law implemented

With its publication in the Turkish Official Gazette, Law No. 7253 amending the "Law on Regulation of Publications on the Internet and Suppression of Crimes Committed by Means of Such Publications" is implemented by the Turkish Parliament. The Law requires "social networks" that are accessed by more than one million users every day to respond to users’ requests to remove illegal content or content violating privacy rights within 48 hours. In case of non-compliance, network providers will be fined TRY 5'000'000.
