Korea Fair Trade Commission issued corrective measures to Naver for deceptive membership advertising

On 11 February 2025, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) issued a ruling against Naver Corp. following an investigation into misleading advertising regarding Naver Plus Membership benefits. The KFTC found that Naver had exaggerated the point accumulation and digital content benefits, whilst simultaneously making the limitations difficult for consumers to find. As a corrective measure, the KFTC ordered that limitations be displayed near the main advertising content.
