The proposal for a Directive on measures for a high common level of cybersecurity across the EU is published by the European Commission. The proposal substitutes the Directive on security of network and information systems (NIS Directive) and modernises the existing legal framework. In particular, the Directive aims to reduce the regulatory burden for competent authorities and reduce compliance costs for private organisations by minimizing reporting requirements.
