Benin: Economic Community of West African States adopted Supplementary Act A/SA.1/12/08 Adopting Community Rules and the Modalities of their Application within ECOWAS, including provisions on merger control regulation

On 19 December 2008, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) adopted the Supplementary Act A/SA.1/12/08 Adopting Community Rules and the Modalities of their Application within ECOWAS. It includes merger control regulations that prohibit any merger, acquisition, or business combination that could lead to a substantial lessening of competition within the ECOWAS Common Market.
