On 19 December 2008, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) adopted the Supplementary Act A/SA.1/12/08 Adopting Community Rules and the Modalities of their Application within ECOWAS. It targets anti-competitive agreements by prohibiting collusive practices such as price fixing, market sharing, output limitation, and imposing dissimilar conditions on equivalent transactions. These regulations render such agreements automatically void and unenforceable within ECOWAS member states.
