Description

CNIL publishes a new version of its GDPR guide for developers

On 13 December 2021, the French National Commission on Informatics and Liberty (CNIL) issued an updated version of its General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guide. The guide is mainly directed at web and applications developers. The updated guide includes two new sections, namely a guide on tracking and the use of cookies on websites and applications as well as a section on the protection against computer attacks. Furthermore, the guide provides code examples to clarify certain GDPR requirements and lists measures that could be implemented to avoid data breaches. The CNIL made it clear, however, that the guide only provided for certain best practice guides rather than an exhaustive guide on all rules of the GDPR.
