Brazilian National Data Protection Authority and France’s National Commission on Informatics and Liberty announced cooperation agreement on data protection and artificial intelligence

On 10 February 2025, the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) and France’s National Commission on Informatics and Liberty (CNIL) declared a strengthened bilateral cooperation to enhance regulatory practices in data protection and artificial intelligence during the AI Action Summit in Paris. The parties discussed regulatory sandboxes, AI governance, and cross-border data flow negotiations between Brazil, the EU, and the UK. Notably, the collaboration yielded the translation of an educational manga on data protection into Portuguese, with the objective of broadening privacy awareness in Lusophone countries and reinforcing global data governance partnerships.
