UK Government releases National Cyber Strategy 2022

On 15 December 2021, the United Kingdom (UK) government issued the National Cyber Strategy 2022, outlining its approach and the actions that will be taken to strengthen the country’s cyber security. The strategy includes five pillars and for each of them, the government lists three to four objectives and the steps that will be followed to accomplish them. First, persons working in the area of cyber are to be educated better and the partnerships between the different players are to be strengthened. Second, cyber risks have to be minimized both at the national and organizational levels. Third, the UK is to take a leading role in the development of technologies essential for cyber security. Consequently, forth, this technological knowledge is to be transformed into a worldwide leading role in the area of cyber security. Finally, national security shall be ensured through the taken measures in regards to cyber actors. The government plans to invest GBP 2.6 billion during the following three years in cyberspace security and legacy information technology systems.
