On 15 March 2025, the Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD) and the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) closes a public consultation on the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Plan. The Plan would be formulated as mandated by Executive Order 14179 on removing barriers to American leadership in Artificial Intelligence. The Plan aims to sustain and enhance US AI leadership while minimising regulatory burdens on private-sector innovation. The consultation gathered information on priority policy actions in areas including AI model development, open-source frameworks, cybersecurity, data privacy, technical standards, intellectual property, and international collaboration.
