United States of America: Bill on law enforcement usage of Artificial Intelligence (SB 180) was introduced at Utah Senate

On 29 January 2025, the Bill on law enforcement usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) was introduced at the Senate of Utah. The bill requires law enforcement agencies to establish a policy on their use of generative AI. The bill mandates that agencies specify approved AI technologies, permissible applications, and the obligation for officers to review AI-generated content. Any police report or law enforcement record created wholly or partially with AI must include a disclaimer and a certification of accuracy by the author.
