Rwanda: Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and Innovation released Rwanda Child Online Protection Policy

On 20 June 2019, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Innovation (MINICT) released Rwanda's Child Online Protection Policy. The policy aims to safeguard children's rights and well-being in the digital environment, addressing risks and harms they may encounter online. It outlines strategic objectives and policy areas to ensure that all Rwandan children can access the digital world creatively, knowledgeably, and safely. The policy emphasises the importance of stakeholder collaboration, including government agencies, ICT companies, telecommunication providers, civil society organizations, parents, teachers, and children themselves, to create a secure and supportive online environment for children.
