Ministry of Information Communication Technology and Innovation released AI readiness and maturity framework for Rwanda

On 3 October 2022, the Ministry of Information Communication Technology and Innovation (MINICT) released the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Readiness and Maturity Framework for Rwanda, a framework designed to monitor and advance the country's capabilities in artificial intelligence. This framework, developed in collaboration with the Center for the 4th Industrial Revolution (C4IR) and supported by GIZ's "FAIR Forward - Artificial Intelligence for all" initiative, aims to align Rwanda's AI development with international best practices while addressing local needs. The framework includes a dashboard to visualise AI readiness and progress, emphasising areas such as 21st-century skills, reliable infrastructure, robust data strategy, and ethical AI adoption in both public and private sectors.
