Description

Australian Government adopted counter-terrorism financing sanctions against Terrorgram

On 3 February 2025, the Australian Government adopted an order imposing counter-terrorism financing sanctions on the online network Terrorgram, which promotes white supremacy and racially motivated violence. This order makes it a criminal offence to use or deal with the assets of, or make assets available to, Terrorgram, with penalties including up to 10 years imprisonment and/or fines. Additionally, four other entities, including the National Socialist Order and the Russian Imperial Movement, have been re-listed for similar sanctions. The order aims to disrupt the activities of terrorists and violent extremists, preventing them from recruiting and radicalising individuals online.
