Department of Home Affairs adopted order blocking use of DeepSeek on government systems and mobile devices (PSPF Direction 001-2025)

On 4 February 2025, the Department of Home Affairs adopted an order blocking the use of DeepSeek products and applications on government systems and mobile devices. The order directs Australian Government entities to prevent the use, installation, or access to DeepSeek on government systems and mobile devices. The order requires entities to identify and remove all existing DeepSeek products and report completion to the Department of Home Affairs.
