Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 including unilateral conduct regulation entered into force

On 30 January 2019, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) was signed by the President and entered into force. The Act prohibits the abuse of a dominant position. The Act applies to all commercial activities, identifying dominant position as the ability of an undertaking to act without regard to competitors or consumers. It prohibits conduct such as excessive pricing, refusal to supply goods, and actions that exclude competitors.
