United States of America: Decoupling America’s Artificial Intelligence capabilities from China Act (SB 321) was introduced to the Senate

On 29 January 2025, the Decoupling America’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Capabilities from China Act was introduced to the US Senate to restrict American AI development ties with China. The Act applies to US companies engaged in AI research, investment, and trade. It prohibits the import or export of AI technology to China. It bars American firms from conducting AI research in China or collaborating with Chinese companies. It also blocks US investment in Chinese AI development.
