Description

Adopted TSA cybersecurity directive for surface transportation owners and operators

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) published two cybersecurity directives for voluntary measures to strengthen cybersecurity across the transportation sector. The directives are directed to freight railroads, passenger rail, and rail transit owners and operators and encourage operators to appoint a cybersecurity coordinator, rapidly report cybersecurity incidents to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, prepare a cybersecurity incident response plan and pursue a cybersecurity vulnerability assessment.
