United Kingdom: CMA announces launch of an investigation into the acquisition of Capita One Limited by MRI Software

On 27 January 2025, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) issued a commencement notice announcing the launch of a Phase 1 merger inquiry into the acquisition of Capita One Limited by MRI Software. The CMA has concluded that it has sufficient information in relation to the acquisition to begin an investigation for the purpose of deciding whether to make a reference for a Phase 2 investigation. The deadline for the CMA to announce its decision whether to refer the merger for a Phase 2 investigation is 25 March 2025.
