Association of Southeast Asian Nations published guide on data anonymisation

On 17 January 2025, during the 5th Association of South East-Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting, the Digital Ministers adopted the guide on data anonymisation. The guide is addressed to policymakers, regulators, and industry organisations and provides information on basic data anonymisation concepts and techniques and typical scenarios for anonymisation. It also provides concrete steps for anonymisation, including knowledge of data, de-identification, application of anonymisation techniques, computing risk, and risk management.
