KFTC fined Krafton, Nexon Korea, and NCSOFT for violations of subcontracting regulations in the game content sector

On 6 January 2025, the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) imposed sanctions against three game software development companies: Krafton, Nexon Korea, and NCSOFT. The FTC's investigation revealed that these companies violated subcontracting regulations by issuing written contracts to subcontractors after work had already begun, sometimes even after project completion. Krafton was fined KRW 360 million. Nexon Korea, was fined KRW 320 million. Finally, NCSOFT received a corrective order. All three companies were directed to ensure future compliance with regulatory requirements to maintain fair trade practices.
