In June 2017, a complaint was made to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) against Google LLC. The complainant accused Google of violating the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) because when his name is searched on the search engine, Google displays links to news articles that contain personal and sensitive information about him.
