Japan: Opened consultation on Guidance for Data Handling Rules on Platforms

On 2 December 2021, a consultation on the Guidance for Data Handling Rules on Platforms is opened by the Cabinet of Japan's Intellectual Property Strategy Promotion Secretariat. In particular, the guidance proposes ways of implementing rules concerning data handling regulation and the adoption of risk analysis policies. The consultation includes the design, implementation and evaluation of rules for platforms, with the aim to implement them by 2025 in the areas of medical care, education, disaster prevention and infrastructures, among others. The consultation will be closed on 16 December 2021.
