On 24 December 2024, Iran's Supreme Council of Cyberspace adopted an order to lift access restrictions on WhatsApp and the Google Play Store. Other social media platforms, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube, remain blocked after they were banned in 2009.
