On 13 December 2024, the Federal Council of the Swiss Confederation adopted the updated Digital Switzerland Strategy 2025. The Strategy outlines the country's priorities for digital transformation to maintain Switzerland's leadership in innovation and competitiveness. The Strategy includes measures addressing the legal aspects and use of artificial intelligence in the Federal Administration, enhancing information security and cybersecurity nationwide, and promoting the use of Open-Source Software within the Federal Administration. The strategy serves as a guideline for both public and private stakeholders and is structured around five long-term domains, including education and skills, security and trust, framework, infrastructure, and digital public services. Each domain has specific indicators to measure progress, and the strategy includes an action plan that outlines and tracks the implementation of various measures. The Federal Chancellery's Digital Transformation and ICT Steering Sector is responsible for the strategy's development, coordination, and monitoring.
