On 2 September 2021, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the creation of an Account Aggregator network. The AA network enables data sharing in order to increase individuals' access and control over their financial data. RBI noted that it aims to expand the type of data available for sharing to include data on securities, taxes, pensions insurance, brokerage and mutual funds. The network will allow customers to access digitally their financial data and share it across institutions more securely.
