On 1 July 2024, the Ministry of Public Security opened a consultation on the Data draft Law (No. 2025/QH15), including cybersecurity requirements until 1 September 2024. The draft law requires the National Data Centre to ensure robust cybersecurity measures. This includes creating an infrastructure that can withstand cyberattacks, prevent unauthorised access and ensure data integrity. The law also requires the implementation of security protocols for data storage and transmission to ensure that data remains secure at all stages of handling. This includes encryption, monitoring for network intrusions and the use of firewalls and anti-virus software to protect against malware.
