Description

Opened CRTC Consultation on standardised internet service labels for easier comparison

On 4 December 2024, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) opened a public consultation aimed at simplifying the process of shopping for home Internet plans. The consultation remains open until 20 February 2025. This consultation explores the potential requirement for Internet service providers to present plan information in a standardised label format. These labels would detail information such as price and speed, enabling Canadians to compare different plans. A public hearing on the consultation will be held on 10 June 2025.
