Description

Adopted Brand Compliance as European Data Protection Seal

On 3 December 2024, the European Data Protection Board (EPDB) adopted an opinion to approve the Brand Compliance certification criteria as a a European Data Protection Seal. The decision builds on a September 2023 opinion, where the EDPB approved the Brand Compliance certification criteria for national use in the Netherlands. With this new opinion, these criteria are extended for application across the EU, ensuring consistent standards and enabling organisations to achieve certification under a unified framework. The European Data Protection Seal serves as a tool for data controllers and processors to certify their compliance with GDPR standards.
