India: Announced CCI approval of acquisition of Flipkart Private Limited by Shoreline International Holdings LLC

On 26 November 2024, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved a transaction involving the subscription of shares of Flipkart Private Limited by Shoreline International Holdings LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alphabet (Google). The transaction includes an investment through a share subscription and an arrangement between an affiliate of Shoreline International Holdings LLC and Flipkart's subsidiary for the provision of certain services. Flipkart, a subsidiary of Walmart, is engaged in wholesale cash and carry of goods and operates marketplace-based e-commerce platforms in India.
