Denmark: Introduced Citizens' proposal to ban TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram for minors

On 26 November 2024, a citizens' proposal called “Ban TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram for minors: Protect Danish children and youth from harmful, addictive digital stimuli” reached the required support of 50’000 citizens and was introduced to the Danish Parliament. The proposal would restrict access to certain social media platforms for minors. The resolution will undergo the standard parliamentary process, including initial and final debates, committee review, and potentially a vote.
