Republic of Korea: Issued order in FTC investigation into AliExpress and Temu over alleged hazardous products

On 20 November 2024, the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) issued an order to block hazardous products sold through overseas online platforms AliExpress and Temu. The order focuses on electronics and children’s products, with a total of 1,915 items blocked. The order applies to consumer goods with safety risks, such as electronics containing harmful substances, children's products posing choking hazards, and accessories with toxic materials. It includes actions like monitoring products for safety and recalling those identified as hazardous, particularly during major shopping events like Black Friday and Boxing Day.
