On 9 November 2024, the Vietnamese Government adopted Decree 147/2024/ND-CP on the management, provision and use of internet services and online information. The cross-border provision of online games in Vietnam is prohibited. The Decree also introduces a requirement for a 16-year rating for games intended for players aged 16 and above. It emphasises measures mandating the protection of children and adolescents from negative online impacts. It requires that foreign entities providing online services must classify and warn about unsuitable content for children and implement child protection measures. Domestic websites and social networks are also required to classify content, display warnings, and adopt child protection solutions.
