Philippines: Implemented Executive Order No. 74 on Immediate Ban of Philippine Offshore Gaming, Internet Gaming, and Other Offshore Gaming Operations

On 31 December 2024, the President's Executive Order No. 74 on the immediate cessation of all Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), internet gaming, and other offshore gaming operations in the Philippines enters into force. All such operations are required to cease as mandated, with the prohibition of new licences and the non-renewal of existing permits for POGOs and related services. The cessation process is overseen by the Technical Working Groups (TWGs), which address the impact on displaced workers and facilitate the closure of illegal offshore gaming operations. National government agencies, including law enforcement, local government units, and the private sector, are encouraged to contribute to the enforcement of the ban.
