On 24 October 2024, the Grand National Assembly adopted Law No. 7529, which amends the Consumer Protection Law and certain other laws, including the Law on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce. The amendments apply to e-commerce intermediary service providers, focusing on transactions through e-commerce marketplaces and investment activities. The Law exempts transactions conducted abroad through e-commerce marketplaces and their economically integrated partners from the licence fee calculation. It also allows a deduction from the net transaction volume if the net transaction volume is not more than 20% of the combined volumes calculated using Electronic Commerce Information System data. In such cases, twice the amount of foreign sales and investment expenditures can be deducted.
