Adopted Singapore-UK Memorandum of Cooperation to enhance safety and reliability of AI technologies in its development and use

On 6 November 2024, Singapore and the United Kingdom signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to enhance the safety and reliability of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in its development. The MoC, signed by Singapore’s Minister for Digital Development and Information and the UK’s Secretary of State for Science, Innovation, and Technology, focuses on enhancing AI safety and reliability. The MoC strengthens cooperation between the AI Safety Institutes (AISIs) of both countries. Areas of collaboration include advancing AI safety research, aligning global standards and protocols, facilitating knowledge exchange, and developing safety testing frameworks.
